Private Vault & Hidden Items

Key Launcher provides built-in privacy tools to hide or secure sensitive applications.

1. Hidden Items

  • Purpose: Hides apps that you rarely use but need to keep installed (e.g., system utilities).
  • How to use: Long-press an app in the drawer, select Hide app.
  • Accessing hidden apps: Go to Settings > Hidden Items to launch or unhide them.

2. Private Vault (Secure Folder)

  • Purpose: Secures sensitive apps (e.g., banking or gallery apps) behind a secret passcode.
  • How to configure:
    1. Go to Settings > Private Vault.
    2. Set a secure passcode of 4 to 8 digits. Opening the config screen or changing the passcode is protected by biometric (fingerprint/face) authentication if your device supports it.
    3. Choose apps to secure.
  • Accessing the Vault:
    • Secured apps are completely hidden from the app drawer.
    • To open the Vault, type # followed by your passcode directly on the home screen T9 keyboard. The format is #xxxxxx, where xxxxxx is your 4–8 digit passcode — for example, if your passcode is 1234, type #1234 to instantly launch the Vault overlay.
    • If you type # before any passcode has been set, the launcher shows a reminder prompting you to configure one first.
    • While the Vault is open, the position of its Close control (on the keyboard, or as a ✕ on the Vault chip) can be changed via Settings → Keyboard Config → Folder & Private Vault Close Button Position.

info On the free plan the Private Vault holds 1 app. Upgrading to Key Launcher Pro unlocks unlimited vault items.
