Key Launcher Help Center

Welcome to the Key Launcher Help Center! Here you will find official documentation, step-by-step guides, and advanced configurations for Key Launcher — the minimalist, T9-keyboard-based launcher for Android.

Key Launcher is designed to help you regain control of your digital life by introducing healthy friction and removing visual distractions.

Get Started

Explore the documentation sections to master Key Launcher:

  • Getting Started: Understand the core philosophy, set up the launcher as default, and configure essential permissions.
  • T9 Keyboard & Search: Master typing with the 9-key grid — or switch to a full QWERTY keyboard — look up contacts, and use Universal Search for calculations, files, and settings.
  • Keyboard Configurations: Pick T9 or QWERTY, then tune the surface theme, colors, opacity, size, layout, and sound/vibration feedback.
  • Quick Glance: Personalize the center clock, integrated media player with synced lyrics, and Quick Glance widget stacking.
  • Super Focus (Focus Mode): Turn your phone into a distraction-free desk companion with Pomodoro timer, photo slideshow, and Auto DND.
  • Agenda Sheet (Calendar): A unified timeline of calendar events, lunar dates, and contact birthdays pulled live from your device.
  • Home Organization: Organize your home screen with the pinned grid, folders, and custom app drawer categories.
  • Edge Panels: Slide out a Widget Center, stacked widgets, a Notification Center, and an ad-free Discover Feed.
  • Settings & Customizations: Themes, fonts and language, status bar, swipe gestures, weather, and lunar calendar.
  • Advanced Features: Secure apps in the Private Vault, configure Super Shortcuts, back up your setup, and go Pro.

What's New

Documentation last updated 24 August 2026, covering app changes through 23 August 2026.

AreaWhat changed
QWERTY KeyboardNew page — the home keypad can now be a full letter keyboard, in four layouts (BlackBerry, Standard, QWERTZ, AZERTY), with a ?123 symbol layer, digits printed on the letter keys, hold-and-drag to type a symbol, and the first result's icon on Enter
Super ShortcutsLetter keys can hold shortcuts (G → Gmail), slots follow key position across layouts, a toast names what you just fired, and a manager screen adds rename / edit / move (with swap) / delete
How the T9 Keyboard WorksRewritten language coverage: Japanese kanji romanised as Japanese (not pinyin), Korean Revised Romanization, joined + polyphonic pinyin, popular-spelling Cyrillic, and native keypads for Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Hebrew, Greek, Thai, Devanagari and Ukrainian. New words-in-any-order matching — Tien Bo finds Bo Tien
Search SettingsNew Secondary search language — make every app findable by its name in a second language (31 to choose from), badged so you can see why a result appeared
Fonts & LanguageLauncher Language grew to 30 fully translated languages, adding العربية, Ελληνικά, עברית, فارسی and Українська
Setup PresetsNew page — capture your whole look into a QR code, file, or text snippet; applying someone else's is free and always undoable
Reader, Translation & Read-AloudNew page — feed articles open in a clean in-app Reader that can translate (on-device, Google, or Gemini) and read the article out loud, with voice and engine pickers
Discover FeedRead / unread state, Mark all as read, Hide read stories, and a per-panel background (color or your own image)
IconsIcon Shape with 24 masks replaces the corner-radius slider, plus a Glass effect edge highlight, icon-pack tinting, and auto-framing for icons that don't fill the shape
Weather & CalendarTapping the weather opens a details popup (forecast, wind, sunrise/sunset, AQI) before your weather app; alternative calendars can keep their original language
Keyboard: Sound & VibrationVibration strength (Light / Medium / Strong) and haptics that fire on touch-down, matching the stock keyboard feel
Edge gesturesPanels now open by swiping across the keyboard only — the home-screen swipe was dropped because it fought Android's back gesture — and drags lock to one axis so a swipe up can no longer open a panel too
Notification CenterClear all moved to a floating button that only appears when there is something to clear; panel background options
Universal SearchTyping on the home screen with no match now shows a compact Smart Search page — calculator, history, settings, suggestions, web / YouTube / Maps / Play
